We are currently seeking a talented, creative vocalist / lyricist to front our band. We have been as an instrumental trio for the bulk of our tenure with an "occasional" vocal appearance from a friend who will not commit to singing for us. This compiled with a general lack of talent in our area has held us back from numerous opportunities for bookings ect.. We are based in the Orange / Dubois county area of southern Indiana.
Our influences cover a wide variety of the musical spectrum from Pink Floyd to Mayhem, from Tool to The Police, and from Yanni to Frank Zappa with a little Type O Negative and Ozzy Osbourne thrown in for good measure. As with so many bands, it's very difficult to accurately describe our "sound"... all I can say is, I have never heard anything quite like us. We strive to create something different yet familiar. Something that can be lush and melodic one moment then bone crushing and guttural the next . We try to achieve something that is greater than the sum of it's parts...that elusive "magic" that only happens with the right chemistry.
Talent and ability are extremely important to us. So many would be vocalists have tried out by screaming themselves hoarse. Although screams do have a place in our music, we are more interested in someone with true vocal talent. Someone who can be melodic and maintain pitch, tone and control as well as be aggressive as needed. Lyrically, we need someone who has a certain eloquence to their writing. Someone who is able to convey emotions freely without spouting obscenities every other word. Don't get me wrong, there is a time and place for everything but as the saying goes...everything in moderation.
We are all individuals with our own lives, likes and dislikes. That being said, the prime candidate would be someone who doesn't have the "I am the star" attitude. We are all pretty much laid back and enjoy laughing at and with each other. A sense of humor is the greatest defense against the tension produced in the creative process and we try not to let any one thing be the straw to break the camel's back.
So, if you are looking for something different than the same old coverband blues and are up for the challenge drop me a line.
